The white ont in the garage is a bpon ont tellabs 612 capable of 75/75 mbps. The gray on outside of the house is a gpon Alcatel o211m. Just an outdoor verizon of the i l211mk and ml. All are capable of gigabit connection. The gpon motorola 1000 also supports gigabit but doesn't service same area as Alcatel.In order to do this the ONT needs a power supply to power it up since the fiber is glass and doesn’t conduct electricity. If you want to cut the cord then you will need some type of internet access whether it is Verizon, your local cable company, or a cellular service. If using Verizon then yes you will need the ONT and a router.
